Sassafras tree or shrub, has leaves with a characteristic pleasant smell and slightly bitter taste. Three species are cultivated in Bulgaria: deciduous laurel, curled and drebnolisten. Their leaves are lantsetovidni, ovoid or pointed, leather, shiny.
