platycerium.jpgPlatitserumite relate to the family of ferns (Polypodiaceae) and include only 7 species. They all grow in the forests of Southeast Asia and Australia. Its name comes from Greek and means broad horns.

Platitseriumat is epifitno plant (growing on the bark of trees and moss), with a long life. Native to Australia. Platitserumat there are two types of leaves. The latter are long, reaching 60 - 70 cm and covered with a wax layer. This layer has a protective function, while limiting the evaporation of moisture from the plant. At the top leaves are separated, thus resemble antlers, hence the name of the plant. Other leaves, scaly, are the basis and serve for fixing plants. While the plant is young, they are green, but - later turning brown.

Like all paparati, and this plant has two leaves: sterile and sporonosni. Sterile grow at the bottom and are flat, rounded, arranged keremidoobrazno. They form something like a funnel, which collect water and nutrients. From the middle of the funnel sporonosnite mature leaves - long, cut them as can be seen maturing spores. They focus on all sides and give the plant a unique and spectacular special appearance.

petunia.jpgPetunia is an annual plant of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). Comes from the tropical parts of South America and mainly in Brazil, where and gets its name (from the Brazilian word for tobacco (petun) because of the amazing similarity between the two plants).


Petunia has branched stems and flowers as a funnel. It flowers from May to late autumn. Grows well in sunny areas and requires regular watering. Propagated through February-March through semena.Petuniyata with its variety of colors, shapes, colors, heavy and prolonged bloom is among the most popular garden plants. Data from the U.S. specialists 30% of total seed production of flowers in the world are those of petuniite.

The Latin name comes from the town πελαργός (pelargos) - "Stork" because of the similarity between the shape of the inflorescence and the head of a stork. Bulgarian name "geranium" is related to the homeliness of the flower which, wherever it "mushnesh, easily retained.

It is a perennial, shrub and rose to 50-80 cm high. Young shoots are fleshy and downy and old - stiff. The leaves have a reniform shape and long handles. The colors are gathered in cluster 20 together and also have long handles. Have a variety of colors from white to raspberry in all shades.

The genus comprises over 400 species, including many hybrids. The varieties are grouped into several main groups:

* Zonal - Pelargonium zonale, these are the most horticultural species;
* Large-flowered English - Pelargonium regale, called. Royal species, and domestic;
* Ampelni - Pelargonium peltatum, pending, or so-called species. sakazcheta;
* Pelargonium (also "aromatic" or "pastrolistni") - (Pelargonium graveolens), used in perfumery because of its flavor;
* Succulent - Pelargonium cucullatum.
